Becoming a member...

At Stony Hill, we place a high emphasis on church membership. Among other things, membership strengthens the church by bringing like-minded believers together in a commitment to the body of Christ. Church membership is required for teaching, leading in worship, working with our children or youth, and holding other key positions in the church.

Membership orientation

In an effort to make membership at Stony Hill meaningful and biblical, we have instituted a prospective member orientation. This process is typically initiated when a prospective member comes forward at the end of a regular worship service. (The process of membership can also be initiated by simply requesting a meeting with the pastor prior to coming forward for a vote on membership.) From there, meetings are set up with the pastor to allow the prospective member the opportunity to learn more about the church before membership is finalized. The prospective member orientation also affords the opportunity to make sure issues such as salvation and baptism are in order.
