Our preaching philosophy...
Pastor Jamie’s preaching may best be described as expository preaching. In this approach, the sermon is designed to explain and apply a given passage of Scripture instead of simply speaking about a given topic that the preacher selects.
This approach is born out of the conviction that the Bible:
- Is God’s word, and
- That it is sufficient to meet the needs of God’s people.
Thus, at Stony Hill, you can expect to come and hear the Bible preached week in and week out. In most cases, Pastor Jamie selects a book of the Bible, starts in the beginning, and preaches all the way through the selected book.
Over the past few years, we have studied Ephesians, the Ten Commandments, Philippians, Acts, Titus, Jonah, Hosea, Colossians and Matthew. Samples of his preaching can be found under the sermons section of this website.
