Jamie Dew, Pastor

Pastor Jamie DewBorn and raised in NC, Pastor Jamie came to know Christ in 1995 at the age of 18. Sensing a call to Christian ministry, Jamie graduated from Toccoa Falls College in Northeast GA in 2000, with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies. Jamie then moved back to Wake Forest, NC to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries (2003) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion (2008).

Jamie married his wife Tara in 2000 and they were blessed with their first set of twins, Nathan and Natalie, in April of 2007. Then, in February of 2010, they were blessed with another set of twins, Samuel and Samantha. In his spare time, Jamie enjoys spending time with his family, watching football, and reading philosophy and theology.”

Jamie was called to be the Pastor of Stony Hill in May, 2004. His life and ministry are driven by God’s command in Deuteronomy 6:5...
"Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul and with all of your strength."

Daniel Brown, Worship and Missions Pastor

Pastor Daniel BrownDaniel learned about Jesus in his early childhood as his mom and dad read him Bible stories and took him to church.  He trusted Jesus Christ as Savior when he was 9 years old. Daniel has a Bachelor's Degree from NC State University and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

He met his wife Julie at the Baptist Student Union while they were in college. They were married in 2000, and now have three children: Nicholas (2002), Ethan (2006), and Elizabeth (2008).  Daniel enjoys playing with his family, outdoor activities, Frisbee golf, sports and music.

Daniel joined the staff of Stony Hill in August, 2006. His favorite Bible verse is  Philippians 3:12:
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”

Derek George, Youth Pastor

Pastor Derek GeorgeDerek was born in Palmer, Alaska, but moved to Kenai, Alaska in his teenage years. His Dad was invited to Church by a coworker and it was at a revival service that Derek prayed to receive Christ, just before his 16th birthday. Derek was baptized shortly thereafter, and says that he knew he was being called into the ministry before he had even come up out of the water!

After graduating from high school, Derek felt led to attend Southeastern College at Wake Forest. He graduated with his BA in Biblical Studies and the History of Ideas in May 2008, and has been working since then on his Master’s of Divinity in Christian Apologetics. It was shortly after moving to Wake Forest that he met his wife, Amanda. They were married on August 2nd, 2008. Derek loves to share the gospel and see people grow in the Lord. He also enjoys College football, fishing, hunting, golf and going to the beach.

Derek joined the staff at Stony Hill Baptist Church in April 2010. His ministry verse is 2 Timothy 4:1-2, “I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.” (NASB)

Judy Hume, Children's Director

Judy Hume, Children's DirectorJudy was born and raised in the deep south of Georgia by Christian parents who placed God first in their lives. Church attendance and involvement was a way of life, but Judy was not saved until April of 2004 at the young age of 52!

She has a Masters in Education and a Masters in Education Administration. Judy taught school for 23 years and then retired. Along with her husband, Gib, and son, Curtis, she moved to Wake Forest in May of 2009. Judy enjoys reading, music, and gardening. She also enjoys playing with her dog, Max!

Judy joined the staff of Stony Hill in April 2010. One of her many favorite Bible verses is Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father” (NASB).
